Driver Requirements

What is the minimum age to rent a car in Curaçao?

The minimum age is 23. Drivers aged 23 or 24 may be subject to an additional young-driver fee.

The primary renter must present a valid driver’s license, a valid government-issued identification document or passport, and an accepted credit card in the renter’s name. Documents must remain valid throughout the rental period.

Your original driver’s license must always be presented. If it is not written in the Latin alphabet, an International Driving Permit or official translation may also be required. It does not replace the original license.

An additional daily fee may apply. Every additional driver must be approved by Alamo Curaçao and included in the Rental Agreement before driving.
